MEET KARIMA HUNTER- FOUNDER OF A NOTE ON STYLE
This week on Wynne's World we meet Karima Hunter, Founder of A Note on Style blog. I've admired Karima's site and her elevated, chic, and minimalist style since she launched and it is an honor to share her summer favorites with you.
Introduction: Founder of A Note on Style blog. Former buyer, retail consultant, and interior designer living in California, I started A Note on Style as a way to share my edit on timeless, ageless style. With so much visual content available today, it can feel overwhelming to skim through and find a gem of inspiration. I wanted to create a site where like-minded people who appreciate a modern interpretation of classic style would want to stop by and view a fresh perspective without all the clutter.
Currently Reading: I’m re-reading The Longevity Diet by Valter Longo. The scientific research supporting the effects from his Fast Mimicking Diet is solid and compelling. I’ve followed the program this year and have seen incredible results both physically and mentally.
Summer Travel Plans: I travel as often as I can but during the summer months prefer to stay local and avoid the crowds. Living in California, there are so many quick and easy getaways. I have weekends in LA and Santa Barbara on the calendar will likely throw in some spontaneous jaunts as they arise.

In September, I’ll be visiting Prague, Budapest and Vienna for three weeks. It’s a part of Europe I’m not super familiar with and a new destination always excites me. A detailed itinerary is still up in the air but whenever I start planning a trip, I’ll ask my readers for suggestions. Because we share similar taste and interests, they often offer the best advice.
I love the freedom of traveling with a carry-on only. Once mastered, it takes all the stress out of packing.
Karima's Summer Travel Style
Summer Wardrobe: My summer uniform is a mix of casual pieces predominantly in neutrals with an occasional pop of color. Shirt dresses, high-waist relaxed pants, and long skirts are my go-to pieces, all with flat sandals. Everything is about comfort, so I live in flats. Raffia Birkenstocks designed in collaboration with Hotel Il Pellicano, will be on repeat. Jeans are less in the rotation right now and are being replaced with my new favorite pant - a modern cropped chino. My clothing style is pretty classic, but I like to have fun with shoes and accessories.

Favorite Summer Beauty Products: don’t wear a lot of makeup so my routine is unfussy and quick. I never leave the house without applying Elta MD sunscreen to my face and neck. It’s been go-to for so many years now I keep an ongoing order on auto-refill. I like products that multi task so between Westman Atelier Vital Foundation Stick and Natura Bisse the Cure Sheer Eye Cream & Concealer, I’m not only getting coverage but a treatment too. Summer beauty is about looking fresh and a little sun-kissed so I’ll brush on Guerlain Terracotta Original Bronzing Powder, a quick flick of Dior Diorissme On Stage Eyeliner, Barely There Naturally Glossy Mascara from Clinique and finish off with Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick in Poppet for lips and cheeks. I keep my nails pale and love the look of Dior Diorlisse Ridge Filler without any additional color. It’s been a game changer for my nail health.
Summer Beauty Essentials
What is meaningful in her life now: After my children left for college, I, like so many women in the same position, questioned the next chapter in life. I delved into A Note on Style as a creative outlet but surprisingly reaped immeasurable rewards in the sense of community it has provided. Connecting and having conversations with people all over the world through my site still amazes me and is incredibly fulfilling. It has made me recognize the importance of maintaining a sense of community both online and off. Actively staying in touch with friends, joining new interest groups, and spending more time with my aging parents have helped me prioritize how I spend my time.
