Early Autumn in the Hudson Valley

Early Autumn in the Hudson Valley

Autumn is the most beautiful season here and this year has been no exception. The local farmers markets are offering fresh corn, apples and pumpkins and a new vintage book store opened in nearby Accord.

Ravenwood is a favorite spot for fresh bread and produce.

Our local farmstand sells fresh eggs and maple syrup.
We have been busy searching for antiques at Maple Lawn in Stone Ridge.
Cherries in Stone Ridge is the place to go for ice cream.
Ollie's Pizza in High Falls is another favorite.
Barthel's Farms in Accord has a market in Ellenville that offers fresh apples and cider donuts.
We also love Adams Fairacre Farms in Kingston for fresh cider donuts.
The Natalie Wood film Splendor in the Grass was filmed in nearby High Falls.
The Ashokan Reservoir is the perfect spot for a run.

  • Just gorgeous all the way around Heidi! I just realized that your newsletters have been deep in sub-sections of my gmail. I am enjoying reading all of the back issues so to speak. Hope your summer was blissful even as it faded into the sunset this week, and fall is greeting us swiftly now. Love your highlight of apple cider donuts. Just saw in NYT Cooking a recipe for BAKED Cider Donuts. Thinking that is my next baking project for the coming weekend. Your new classics are divine too. XX MaryBeth
