DIANE ARBUS: IN THE BEGINNING
The Met Breuer- 945 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10021
One nice way to escape from the heat in the city is to enjoy some never before seen work from Diane Arbus at The Met Breuer. I recently spent an afternoon there and it is definitely worth a visit. Here are some of my favorite images although I would have liked to have taken many more.
One her most iconic photos- A family on their lawn one Sunday in Westchester, N.Y. 1968
Woman carrying a child in Central Park, N.Y.C. 1956
Elderly woman whispering to her dinner partner, Grand Opera Ball, N.Y.C. 1959
My favorite image- Woman with white gloves and a pocket book, N.Y.C. 1956
My bag for the day- our Oak Bluffs Straw Bag-photographed in the garden of the Met Breuer
A nice spot to unwind with a cold drink after the exhibit- the outdoor patio on the basement level
