HOUSE HUNTING IN HUDSON, NY
With the exception of one beautiful long weekend in Amagansett, I took a break from the Hamptons and spent most of the summer upstate near Hudson, NY in a little town called Philmont. After falling in love with the area, I decided to start the process of finding a weekend home. Rolling hills, farmland, fresh air, organic produce from the local farmers markets and friendly people are just a few of the many things that make the Hudson Valley so wonderful. Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Claverack are nearby and the area attracts artists, musicians and craftspeople. The challenge is selecting a town because they all have so much to offer.
Warren Street in the town of Hudson
There are numerous antiques shops on Warren Street and the Face Stockholm store sells vintage clothing and accessories in addition to their natural line of makeup and skincare. After spending a day shopping and exploring the town we stumbled into an excellent restaurant called Ca'Mea and enjoyed homemade ravioli and linguine and clams. For dessert we stopped into an adorable little ice cream shop called Lick which serves ice cream made in the Hudson Valley.
