GREENWICH STYLE-JORDAN RHODES OF GLIMPSE GUIDES
Jordan Rhodes
This week on Wynne's World we meet Jordan Rhodes, a Greenwich based entrepreneur and mother of two beautiful children (with a third on the way!). Jordan is the founder of www.glimpseguides.com and the Glimpse Guides app. I've been an admirer of her classic style and her eye for luxury and travel for quite some time now and am excited to share her favorite things with you.
From Jordan: Glimpse Guides is a collection of luxury city guides for families who do not want to give up on stylish travel just because kids are in tow! I started writing them soon after my oldest child was born four years ago, and it has now turned into a website and app, with all app proceeds going to different charities. I believe that travel with children is so important for teaching them about the rest of the world, and to help them learn to appreciate other cultures, but I also want to help make things easy and enjoyable for parents.

Wardrobe Staples: I am such a fan of the fall and winter, when I can pull out my Chloe boots, Heidi Wynne scarves, waxed Seeland jackets for weekends and Max Mara cashmere coats during the week. My sweet husband has to buy me a new Celine bag every season because I can’t get enough of them, but for events I love my Lautrec clutches - a cult French brand made of the most gorgeous skins you can imagine. Kiss the Ring New York makes some of my favorite jewelry and I also love Veronica Beard’s tailored jackets. Right now I am 30 weeks pregnant with my third so not as stylish as I normally think I am, but J Brand has the best maternity jeans and The Row designs the most luxurious oversized sweaters.

Currently Reading: I just finished The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead which was incredible and recommended by Oprah. I currently can’t put down The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware, and up next is The Romanovs by Simon Sebag Montefiore.

Summer Travel Destination: Our family goes to Nantucket every summer but since I also write these travel guides we usually throw in a Europe trip. We also enjoy seeing the kids’ grandparents in Arizona, Aspen and Arkansas.

Favorite Beauty Products: Oh gosh, just like the wardrobe staples question, this will have a lot of answers! When I travel I love to take Clarins Beauty Flash Balm on the plane - it instantly brightens my jet-lagged skin, as does Dr. Weil’s Mega Bright dark circle minimizer. For everyday I love Bioderma Sensibio H2O for makeup removal, Exo Face moisturizer, Chanel Sublimage everything, and La Roche-Posay sunscreen. For makeup, Victoria Beckham bronzer, Maybelline Full and Soft mascara, Chanel lip products at night and Burt’s Bees chapstick during the day. I also love my Penhaligon’s fragrance and lotion.

Current Music Playlist: Besides The Wheels on the Bus and Beauty and the Beast soundtrack? (Again, I have kids…) I have really been throwing back to the 90’s rap I used to love, thanks to Rachelle Hruska’s launch of Lingua Franca sweaters. But being from the South I also love my country music.
Currently Watching: I’m an Anglophile so I love Poldark which is currently on Masterpiece. And lately with the upcoming election I can’t get enough of the news networks.

Fashion Icons: Such a hard question! I love Aerin Lauder’s simple, yet elegant style, Lauren Santo Domingo always looks effortless in the latest fashions, and Brigitte Bardot had the dark eye with light hair that I love to do for myself.

I am really grateful for my website and app because they gave me a renewed sense of purpose and a greater perspective on life. I’ve been introduced to amazing charities, interesting and inspiring women, and beautiful places. Even learning about photography for my Instagram account (@glimpseguides) has taught me to look for the beauty in simple, everyday things. I also think that when you have something to work for and something to lose, life is that much better. And getting to involve my family with my job is a blessing.
