WEEKEND SKI TRIP TO WAITSFIELD, VERMONT
Last weekend I left freezing cold New York with a small group of friends. We traveled up to even colder Vermont for a ski trip to Sugarbush where I fell in love with the town of Waitsfield. It is so picturesque with rolling hills and farms and quaint little restaurants and shops. It feels like a different century. There is even a covered bridge in the middle of town. My favorite spot for dinner was American Flatbread which serves pizza from a wood fired, clay oven. The pizza is made with organic flour, organic tomatoes, and many organic & locally-farmed meats, veggies, and cheeses. The staff was so friendly and the service was excellent. The monkfish pizza and evolution salad were incredible and dessert is highly recommended, especially the homemade apple pie and the raspberry sorbet. My friends couldn't stop talking about the coffee. I discovered that they also have a restaurant here in the city called Tribeca Hearth at 205 Hudson Street so that will be a new regular spot. Another favorite restaurant was Peasant where the staff was also friendly and warm and the food was delicious. It was such a beautiful weekend and I look forward to visiting again.
