I've watched The Talented Mr Ripley countless times and will continue to watch it again and again for eternity. One of my Instagram friends recommended the original film, Plein Soleil, which is also known as Purple Noon. Directed by Rene Clement and released in 1960, it is a riveting thriller and a classic French film with a legendary cast. Starring Alain Delon (unbelievably handsome) as Tom Ripley, Marie Laforet as Marge and Maurice Ronet as Phillippe Greenleaf, it is arguably creepier than the remake and the scenery is just as beautiful. Next on my list is the book by Patricia Highsmith- I've heard wonderful things and am sure that it will also become a favorite.
